Although it’s a common behavior in dogs, it’s not recommended since it can cause digestive upsets and transmission of bacteria.

To minimize or resolve this issue, try the following:

1. If you’re home, scoop the poop immediately from the litter box.
2. If you’re away at work, raise the litter box so your dogs can’t reach it.
3. Place a barrier, like a pet gate, to minimize access for the dogs while ensuring your cat can access their litter box.
4. Alternatively, place the litter box in another room and install a cat flap so only your cat can pass through.
5. Also, you can purchase a dog-proof litter box that only your cat can access.
6. Review your dogs’ diet and offer added enrichment.
